Bali Itinerary - Grand Island Tour
When most tourists think of Bali, they immediately picture only the southern beach area of Kuta. This once quiet fishing village, have grown to be a magnet for sun-chasing tourists. To service these visitors, the city has developed a sophisticated network of hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs, shopping centres and day spas. As a result this is often the only destination most foreign tourists get to see. However, these people are missing out on the "real" Bali. The other 95% of the island still holds the charm that made Bali such a popular destination over the last 50 years, and is now gone from the southern beach metropolis.
Our itinerary is designed to see the "real" Bali, and is as follows -
Day 1 - Arrival in Bali - Arrive at Denpasar International Airport, and make our way to Kuta by local taxi

Days 2 & 3 - Kuta Beach - Find somewhere to stay, explore Kuta beach and some of the shops and bars
Day 4 & 5 - Ubud - get away from the bustle to the peaceful Artists abode in the cool highlands
Day 6 - Lake Batur - Get close to nature, down onto the lake located in the crater of an active volcano
Day 7 & 8 - Lovina Beach - visit the series of Black stone beaches that up the towns grouped as Lovina Beach
Day 9 - Tulamben - dive on one of the most extraordinary WW2 wrecks, only meters from the beach
Day 10 & 11 - Amed - visit the new boom area of Bali, hidden away in Balis North East
Day 12 & 13 - Candidasa - back to one of the older tourist areas, where beaches have been washed  away
Day 14 - Sanur - visit Bali's original beach destination, on the peaceful, reef-ringed coast
Day 15 & 16 - Nusa Lembongan - ferry from Sanur beach to this peaceful, big wave hideaway

Highlights of the Grand Tour of Bali Itinerary
We commence this Grand Tour of Bali, when we disembark from our plane at Denpasar International airport, and subsequently make our way by local taxi to our accommodation in Kuta. After soaking up some sun on the world famous Kuta beach, we eventually head to the artists retreat of Ubud, high in the central mountains. Among other things, we visit the legendary Monkey Forest, and later move on to Kintamani, to view Mt Agung, Balis active volcano. From there, we move on to the black sand beaches at Lovina Beach, and later, Tulamben, where we dive on the WW2 wreck of the USS Liberty. Moving on again, we visit the newly developed area of Amed, and from Amed we move back to Candi Dasa, where overzealous building has seen the demise of the beaches. Next it is on to Sanur, the original tourist enclave, and when we are ready, we ferry to Nusa Lembongan, a holiday from the holiday, for some real peace and quite. start
